Adding gall to Jaquard marbling colours will increase how much a colour will spread onto the marbling size. Add it to the paint to make one colour dominate over the others. Marbling is the ancient art of floating paints on thickened ("sized") water, then transferring the floating paint design onto paper or fabric. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy, and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding and stationery. Part of its appeal is that each print is a unique design.
