These goose quills were the principal writing instrument from the 6th to the 19th century. Hand cut, the quill provides a sharp stroke and flexibility. The hollow shaft of the feather acts as a reservoir for ink. These are natural feathers (with unnatural colours - if you ever see a deep blue goose, be sure to ask for a few feathers for us), so each will vary from the photos. They are about 28cm long.

I know that the only way to decide whether you really like a pen or not is to hold it, which is kindof difficult to do over the internet, so I have a solution. Buy it.
